Aoife has just finished teaching at the National College of Art and Design in the Industrial Design Department. While there she tutored on a module introducing Design Methods to second year students.

Previously she was a Research Associate at MIT’s Media Lab Europe in the Human Connectedness Group. While there she undertook a project entitled Aura that addressed visceral communication between separated couples. This project straddles areas such as Affective Computing, Awareness Systems and Presence. Aura was presented at the CHI 2005, pre-proceedings workshop on Awareness Systems. Aoife ended her time at MLE when it was shut earlier this year (2005).

She undertook her MA in Interaction Design at the RCA, where she investigated areas such as experience, ‘open’ design, and explicit technology. Aoife has a B. des in Industrial Design from the National College of Art and Design in Dublin. She finished with two projects addressing areas of sustainability and inclusive design both of which were resolved with direct commercial implementation in mind.

Her current interests are in continuing her research, teaching and working in industry.
