When asked
to think about the experience surrounding the car we focused on the non-driver.
As passengers we are expected to sit quietly. This is not preferable on
journeys of any length and we often find ourselves fidgeting or trying
to sleep because there is nothing else to do.
We have illustrated two extreme alternatives. We felt
it was the perfect opportunity to take care of odd jobs such as washing
or gardening during long journeys. This non-time that passengers, specifically
back seat passengers, must endure could be put to better use.
This project aims to illustrate inadequacies in one
the most prolific products in our society. Although nonsensical the message
is strong.
