Create a drinking container for the new millenium. The container should reflect the brand identity of Grolsch larger.

The branding of the Grolsch product is distinctive. The unique bottle top is much cherished by the consumer and the manufacturer. In creating this concept it was felt that this individualism should seriously be reflected. The action of placing the glass in the base is ceremonial not unlike that of placing a cup in a saucer. This ceremony indicates the fine calibre ofthe beverage as does the bottle top.
The main form of the glass takes inspiration from the traditional fine pilsner glasses and follows through to a futuristic orb. Situated in the centre of this orb is a Grolsch green bubble which is unique in every glass, strengthening the individualism of Grolsch.
The aluminum base reflects tradition with its gentle tapers and champhered edges. A sharp slice has been chopped from one side of the form causing a break in harmony, revealing the sharp edge. Through this the green identity bubble can be seen.
This concept challenges existing vessels and presents the consumer with a future that is both delicate and robust. The Grolsch Identity glass carries on the tradition of speculation about the future: its styles, technologies and customs.
