Create a partition with practical secondary elements such as storage
and a display area that also behaves as an addition to the theme of design
in the graphic designer's office.
Reasearch showed to me that
there was an abundance of
partitions that separated a
room with storage and a few
display surfaces that were
without storage but none
with both. The one example
that I did find was large
and cumbersome.
I decided to create a product
that was both practical and
elegant, providing decent
storage and a definite display
area.
This partition was created to be located in the center of a large office
and separate a working desk from a conference area. The main body consists
of two sheets of stainless steel, curved in order to indicate and allow
traffic flow either side of the partition. The stainless steel sheets
are separated so the partition does not appear solid. In addition to this,
the dark mahogony base creates the impression that the sheets are floating
in their space.
The display area allows the designer to place an example
of his work on show giving a positive and creative
impression to clients as they are in his office. The display
can be changed easily.
Shelving and drawers allow a certain amount of storage in
tne partition, making it useful as well as beautiful. |
